Sunday Energy: For Sol, Norse Goddess of the Sun ☀️
There’s something about Sundays that feels sacred, isn’t there?
Maybe it’s the way the sunlight seems softer, slower, almost wrapping you in a warm, golden hug. Or maybe, just maybe, it’s a little ancient magic still lingering — the energy of Sol, the Norse goddess of the sun, blessing us with her light.
Sunday — or Sun’s Day– Sol’s Day — has long been tied to the sun itself. In Norse mythology, Sol (sometimes called Sunna) is the personification of the sun, a powerful goddess who carries light across the sky in a chariot pulled by two swift horses, Árvakr (“early awake”) and Alsviðr (“very swift”). As she rides, she is relentlessly pursued by the great wolf Sköll, who will one day catch her, according to the prophecy of Ragnarök. But even in the face of such inevitable darkness, Sol’s journey continues — her light pushing forward each day, never stopping, never faltering.
Sol embodies resilience, persistence, and the unwavering illumination of the spirit. Her eternal journey across the sky reminds us that even when life feels difficult or shadowed, we are still capable of shining through. She is a constant source of warmth, growth, and hope — just like the energy we feel when we slow down, breathe, and reconnect on a Sunday.

The Vibe of Sunday ✨
Sundays are made for slowing down and soaking it all in. It’s a day to recharge. To ground. To reconnect with the parts of yourself that get a little frazzled during the rush of the week. After sharing that cozy Blueberry Cobbler recipe, it really got me thinking: How perfectly does a simple, nourishing treat fit into this sacred day?
When we bake, when we stir a bubbling pot, or knead dough with our hands, we are grounding ourselves without even realizing it. We’re coming back to Earth, to the present, to gratitude. Just like the sun nurtures the earth, our small Sunday rituals — whether it’s cooking, sipping tea, walking barefoot in the grass, or simply sitting in the sunlight — nurture our souls.
A Memory of Sunday 🌾
Even growing up, when Sundays meant going to church, there was always this tension underneath it all.
The flurry of figuring out the perfect “Sunday best” — the pantyhose that never fit quite right, taming my hair, making sure the good shoes still looked good enough to wear — it never felt right. It was a rush, a pressure, and somehow the sacredness of the day felt caught up in the worry of appearances and schedules.
It was only after the sermons were done, once we were finally out of those constricting clothes, that I would feel it — that real Sunday peace.
Sitting outside on the old swing, bare feet brushing the dirt below, feeling the sun kiss my face and the wind play in my hair, my grandparents’ dog loyally stretched out at my side… that was when the day — and the week — made sense again.
It was a moment where I could truly let my guard down, breathe deep, and connect with everything around me.
At least until the call came to head back inside… and the quiet weight of blessings, manners, and masking would settle back onto my shoulders.
But for those few golden minutes? I was simply me — grounded, sun-kissed, and utterly free.
Grounding and Sunday Energy 🌿
Grounding isn’t just a trendy word. It’s ancient, essential, and oh-so-necessary — especially on Sundays.
It’s about feeling the pulse of life under your feet, breathing in deep, and remembering that you are connected. To Sol. To the Earth. To yourself.
Sol’s eternal journey across the sky is not just about physical sunlight — it’s a reminder that we, too, are radiant beings. Just like her, we are capable of shining even through darkness. We can choose to embody her resilience and strength, no matter the external pressures, and remember that our light is an unbreakable force.
Simple ways to ground your Sunday:
- Walk outside and let your bare feet touch the earth. Even just a few minutes can work wonders.
- Light a candle in honor of Sol and spend a few moments in meditation or quiet gratitude.
- Make a simple, rustic meal with your hands — think cobblers, stews, and fresh salads.
- Let the sunlight kiss your skin. Even through a window, even for a moment.
Sundays aren’t just about rest; they’re about restoration.
They’re about gathering up all the golden light you can, tucking it into your heart, and carrying it into the week ahead.
So today, may you find a patch of sunlight.
May you sink your roots deep into the Earth.
May you nourish your body and spirit.
And may you remember: you are just as radiant and unstoppable as Sol herself. 🌞
Much love and many blessings,
Mrs. B
