Flowers in Magic: Post 2

Neither religion nor a scientific idea, magic is said to be a supernatural belief and practice. Instead, it is said to be using or possessing supernatural abilities to cause baffling occurrences.

Some ideas of magic are just for fun, and magicians use optical illusions to trick the mind of the audience. In the meantime, some magic is thought to be a superpower that can be found in objects or used in witchcraft to bring about a desired outcome.

We are all aware that various flowers have distinct meanings and symbols. However, did you know that some flowers are also said to possess potent magical properties?

The following are some flowers that, over the course of time, have captivated our imaginations and are said to possess magic and power.

Different Types of Flowers and their meanings.

Let’s make a Money Bowl

Let’s make a money bowl to start off the New Year! With the new year here my only resolution has been to post more and embrace my practice out in the open more. So with this in mind I want to share with you all a few things I am going to start using more in my daily practice. From Poppets, to Cinnamon Rituals on the 1st of the month, to other simple DIY things you can do on your own. Simmer Pots, Money Bowls, and anointing oils, there are so many things for me to share with you all.

Let’s Talk about Poppets

A poppet can be as simple or as elaborate as you like — it all depends on how much time and effort you want to put into it. You can construct one out of just about any material — cloth, clay, wood, wax. Use your imagination! In some magical traditions, it’s believed that the more work you put into it, and the more complex it is, the stronger your link will be to your goal. Because a poppet is a device for sympathetic magic, all of its components will be symbols of what it is you hope to achieve.

You can do your poppet-making as part of the working itself, or it can be made ahead of time so you can use the poppet later on. Which method you choose is really up to you.

Teas for reducing stress and anxiety

One of my “things” that I do to help my body reduce stress and anxiety is that I drink teas, I also drink teas to help reduce inflammation, help with sleep, and with pain. Teas as I have talked about before are an amazing way to boost your health and promote healing. But that is not all they can do 😉 No, teas are a wonderful addition for any herbalist and for practices with divination, healing, and centering. The possibilities are endless with a good tea. I do make some teas that we offer to people, but only by request these days. However, I thought that I might take a moment and share some recipes with you, that you can add into your own practice or just your kitchen.

Quick Whole Wheat Honey Hemp Bread

The smell of this lovely warm bread filled the house with its notes of honey, wheat, & hemp. I got excited about having a slice or two with the stew I had made, and boy I was not disappointed once it was dinner time. This is a rather heavy and dense bread but it is perfect with a stew or even a soup on a chilly day. Its slightly sweet, a touch salty, and best severed warm. It would be amazing with some hemp butter or even honey butter to accent both in the bread… or even some hemp butter with a drizzle of honey as a sweet treat. I am for sure going to have to add this recipe into my Make Again category. It was so simple and very yummy!
